Willie Rabbit

Willie Rabbit passed away in Claremore, OK on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the age of 79.  Willie was born on March 24, 1945, to Nudie and Ida (Sullateskee) Rabbit in Mazie, OK.  He was a lifelong member of the Oologah/Collinsville area. Willie served his country in the United States Army for 3 years and fought in the Korean War.  During his service he worked as a missile loader, tank mechanic, and rifleman.  He received an honorable discharge at the rank of E3 Sergeant and was awarded the Marksman Award, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Hi-flo M-14 Rifleman, and Sharpshooter badge. He made his career working as an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas.  Willie enjoyed fishing, playing and coaching softball in his younger years, watching OU football and spending time with family.  He was an artistic person and had many hobbies such as drawing, painting, woodcarving, making jewelry and flutes.  Willie made an impression on many hearts and will be greatly missed.

Willie is survived by his children, Sue Ann Linville and husband Rex, Mitchell Rabbit, and Rita Peter and husband Craig; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Willie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Rabbit, and 8 siblings.

Visitation for Willie will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 9am-8pm at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. Family will be present from 5pm-8pm.

Funeral Services will be 1pm, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at The Presence in Owasso, 12899 E 76th St N, Owasso, OK 74055, with Pastor Alvin Fruga officiating. Interment will follow at Sandridge Cemetery.
