William Edward “Bill” Tally of Oologah, OK passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 in Collinsville. He was 79. Mr. Tally was born February 19, 1928 Pershing, OK. He was the oldest child of Thomas Edward and Lillian Pauline Maness Tally. Mr. Tally had lived in the Oologah area since 1979 having moved from Sperry, OK. Mr. Tally retired from Richards Propane, but he spent most of his adult life as a ranch hand. He was a member of the Oologah and Turley, OK Round Up Clubs. He held numerous offices in both organizations. Mr. Tally rode in all the local parades and in other parades in other cities in Oklahoma. Mr. Tally's life was all about horses, cattle and rodeos. He was known by many and will be missed by all.
Mr. Tally married Emily I. Holmes on December 16, 1950 at Ponca City, OK. She preceded him in death. He was also is preceded in death by his parents's and 3 Brothers: Ernest Leroy Tally, John Allen Talley and James Lloyd Tally.
Bill is survived by 4 Children, Carolyn Green and husband Don of Rison, AR, Billy Tally and wife Mary of Spinglake, NC., Phyllis Tally and Cheryle Tally, both of Oologah; 4 Brothers, Robert Tally and wife Mildred of Tulsa, Tommy Tally and wife Ella Mae of North Little Rock, AR, Donald Tally and wife Nancy of Edmond, OK, and Robert Carter of North Little Rock, AR; 1 Sister, Sue Kersey of North Little Rock, AR; 3 Sister-in-Laws, Mary Ellen Tally of Marlow, OK, Kay Tally and Barbara Tally, both of Little Rock, AR; 11 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 24, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Oologah Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is planned for 2:00, Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Wann Cemetery.
