William Calvin "W.C." Montroy

June 30, 1956 — April 12, 2021

W.C. Montroy was a lifelong resident of Collinsville, Oklahoma. He passed away on April 12, 2021 at his home after nearly a year long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 30, 1956, in El Paso, Texas to his father Johnnie Montroy and his mother Carmen Montroy.

W.C. had five siblings, one brother Johnnie Ray Montroy and four sisters Ruth Mahoney, Audrey Harris, Lisa Montroy and Kathy Montroy.

W.C. was a very happily married man to his wife of 47 years, Denise Montroy. They had 1 son Jason Montroy who has been married to his wife Kristin Montroy for 14 years. They have 2 children, Kali who is 12 years old and Chase Montroy who is 10, both of which were poppy’s absolute pride and joy. He always referred to Kali as, his beautiful girl and Chase was Poppy’s Wildman.  He loved it when Kali, who is an amazing artist, would bring him pictures she had drawn for him. A great deal of W.C.’s free time was spent at football, baseball and wrestling practices and games being the best cheerleader one can imagine for his grandchildren.

W.C. also enjoyed getting together to play cards and games with the family, cooking out, playing bingo, working on the farm and continually being there to help as many people as possible. He was an extremely giving and caring man, that always put the needs of others before his own. Most of his life was spent working in the oilfield both as a business owner and as an oilfield pumper.

He was so thankful and greatly appreciative for the kindness of Jason’s college friends, Dean Koleada, Erin Brown, Cash Lafferty, Anthony Gorospe, Chad Wilcox, John Magregi, Todd Mustard, Mark Jurkuta and Dave Thompson, a.k.a. the Sooner Crew, for taking it upon themselves upon learning of his diagnosis of stage 4 cancer to give over $2000 dollars for W.C. and his family to go out and instill as many memories as possible. He loved each and every one of these amazing gentlemen with every ounce of his soul.

Danny Bement and Sonny Wan also deserve a great deal of credit for putting together a fully paid for turkey hunt raffle. These gentlemen took it upon themselves to find a way to contribute to the memory of W.C.  Danny, we want to give you a special thank you for always reaching out to Denise and W.C. for anything and everything they may need.

W.C. is survived in death by his wife Denise, his son Jason, his daughter in law Kristin, his grandchildren Kali and Chase, his brother Johnnie Ray and his wife Vickie Montroy, his sisters Ruth, Lisa and Audrey, his brother in law Carl Shank Jr., his sister in law Diane McPeters, his nephews Richard Mahoney, Ashley Mahoney, Derek Doerr, Emory McPeters, Christopher Mahoney, Daniel Harris, Jeremy Recoy, nieces Amber Daniel, Danelle Raper, Conni Werther, Kristy Phillips and Linda Gonzalez.
