Walter Doyle Jackson, age 94, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Born in Asher, Oklahoma, on February 12, 1931, Walter lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and steadfast devotion to family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 and a half years, Charlotte Jean “Robinson” Jackson; his son, Dale Jackson; and his parents, Walter Noden Jackson and Sallie Belle “Prewitt” Jackson.
Walter is survived by four loving children: Doyle Gene Jackson and wife Dicie, of Owasso; Guy Wade Jackson of Tulsa; G. June Williams and husband Mike, of Claremore; Jay Alan Jackson of Tulsa and a daughter-in-law; Betty Jackson of Owasso. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness, integrity, and resilience.
A proud graduate of what was then East Central University, Walter was the first in his family to earn a college degree—a milestone that reflected his belief in education, perseverance, and personal growth. He was known for his gentle wisdom, quiet humor, and humble heart.
A visitation celebrating Walter’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, noon, to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Oologah Church of Christ, where he was a faithful member.
He was deeply loved—and he will be dearly missed.
