Wade Huckleby

Wade Huckleby of Oologah, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was 78. Wade was born May 13, 1934 in Verdigris, OK to William J. and Myrtle Viola (Gilpin) Huckleby. He met and married Ruth Davis, and together they raised 2 children. Wade served in the Navy. Upon returning, he worked as a plumber, a stone mason, and just a jack of all trades until his retirement. He took pride in being a grandfather and was a wonderful one. His friends and family will miss him dearly.

Wade is survived by his wife Ruth Huckleby of the home; his daughters, Ruth Ann and Rick Brooks of Talala and Ronda and Jerry Stevens of Stigler; four siblings, Bill Huckleby, Carol Manning, Johnny Huckleby, Gary Huckleby; his grandchildren, Leslie and George Peters and Natalie Stevens; four great grandchildren, Wade, Jake, Emma and Cole; and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Oologah Assembly of God. Services were under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
