Virgil Dale Daniels, 89 years old, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, in Westville, OK.

Virgil was born to Brewer and Cherry Christie Daniel on May 9, 1936, in Collinsville, OK.  He was an athlete and played many sports, but football and rodeo was his passion.  He was Collinsville’s all conference football player for numerous years in a row. Virgil graduated from Collinsville High School and went on to college at Bacone University where he played football. He then went to Haskell Indian College to play football as well.  Virgil and his only brother, Richard Chief Daniels, entered the rodeo circuit where they would meet many of his lifelong friends.

He was a member of the Wann Baptist Church and a member of the Lion’s Club of Wann. Virgil was Wann’s “Santa” for over 20 years for Christmas.  He was a member of the Collinsville VFW. Virgil was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.  He loved the Delaware Powwow during Memorial Day weekend and looked forward to the reunion it held every year with family and friends.
