Vera Mae Barrett

Vera Mae Barrett of Collinsville, OK passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 in Collinsville. She was 77. Vera was born September 22, 1932 in Caulfield, MO to Thomas and Sadah Hensley. At a young age her family moved to the Collinsville area where she spent most of her life. She met and married William Earl Barrett, Sr. and together they raised 6 children. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2005. Vera spent her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge in her younger years, but her main hobby was bingo. She was also a member of Community Church in Collinsville. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Vera is survived by Billy Barrett and his wife Brenda of Broken Arrow, Diane Barrett of Collinsville, John Barrett of Collinsville, Glenda Hollenbeck and her husband Clyde of Collinsville, Donnie Barrett and his wife Mary Ann of Tulsa, Theresa Dean and her husband Rick of Claremore; 2 sisters, Oletia Wilson of Collinsville, Jenael Chimene and her husband Leon of Briar, MO; 1 brother, Larry Hensley of Collinsville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 7 siblings, and 2 great grandchildren, Austin Hollenbeck and Skylynn Barrett.

Visitation for Vera will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 1:30 – 6:00 p.m., and Monday, November 9, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. all at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be accepting guests Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
A funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Community Church in Collinsville with Rick Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, www.collinsvillefh.com.
