When she was thirteen she met the love of her life, and her best friend, Robert Wayne Gibson in Wichita. It was a teenage romance that lasted nearly fifty years. She loved telling the story about their first date at Taco Tico in Wichita. She said she ordered so much that Robert spent all his money on her dinner, that he only had enough left for water for himself. She would always giggle at that. They were married September 15, 1973, and they celebrated their forty-fourth anniversary just before Robert passed away in September 2017. They had 2 daughters, Karri Ann and Robin Jane. The family lived in Wichita, Kansas - Lamar, Missouri- Miami, Oklahoma - San Angelo, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma before finally planting roots in Oologah in 1982. The family remained in Oologah until Robert got a job promotion that took the family to Central Florida in 1987-1989. The family then returned to their hometown, in Oologah where they stayed the rest of their lives. Robert and Twila and the girls all attended Rabbs Creek Southern Baptist Church for many years, where friendships, that were more like like family, were created.

Twila was a talented seamstress, that specialized in custom drapery and upholstery. She worked for several interior design companies. Some of which were Old Village, and Fabricut in Tulsa, were she made some life long friends. Twila began working for Oologah Schools in 2006. She worked at the school until 2017 when she stopped working to take care of her husband Robert. Working for the school she made so many friends. She loved that she worked where all three of her grandkids went to school. She was one proud grandma. She also enjoyed seeing and talking to all of the students and teachers. If you ask anyone that had the privilege of knowing her, they would always say she was smiling, a joy to be around and gave the best hugs.

She was a very involved grandma. She was always ready for sleepovers, baseball games, dance recitals, cheer and football games, and all of the school programs. You name it. If her grandkids were there, she was there. She loved Alayna, Christian and Jacob with all of her heart, and was so proud she got to see all of them graduate from Oologah.

When Robert passed away in 2017 she was heartbroken. Her and Robin had to make a new life without him, and that hurt. But the birth of her first great-grand baby, Zayde, in 2019 helped heal that heart. She even had t-shirts made for her and Robin that said Zayde’s Gigi, and Zayde’s great-aunt, when he was born. They were both ready for the love and joy that comes along with a new baby. He made her laugh again, and often she would say that he saved her life. She spoiled him rotten. Two days before she passed she was able to attend his first zoo trip with the family. She had really been looking forward to him seeing the dinosaurs. She had such a wonderful day.

Twila is survived by her daughter Robin of the home. Daughter Karri and husband Michael Jump of Oologah. Brother Donnie Watts of Wichita, Kansas and sister-in-law, Linda Johnson of Wichita Kansas. Three grandchildren, Christian Jump and wife Alyssa of Oologah. Alayna Jump and fiancé Dylan of Oologah and Jacob Jump also of Oologah. Her sweet little Great-grandson, Zayde Michael Bell of Oologah and her faithful fur baby, Robbie.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Twila was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wayne Gibson. Father Claude Eugene Watts. Mother, Murlin Lee Watts (Maggard) and her brother Butch Johnson.
