Tracy Jackson Lucas, Texas Aggie, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. He was 46. Tracy was born at Moody Air Force Base on September 12, 1968 in Valdosta, GA to Dale and Linda (Mitchell) Lucas. He was a graduate of the Gladewater High School Class of 1987, and continued his education at Texas A&M where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Tracy spent most of his life working in logistics and operations, and recently worked for U.S. Payments in Tulsa as an Inventory Manager. To those who knew him, he was considered the BIGGEST A&M fan ever (Go Aggies!). He enjoyed spending time in the water, whether it was the ocean or the lake. Tracy had a great love for dancing and has taught many ladies how to dance, and in many different styles. He also loved golfing with family and friends. Tracy had recently moved to Tulsa to be with the love of his life, Trisha Sholar and her daughter Olivia. He leaves behind many loved ones who miss him and find comfort and joy in his memory.
Tracy is survived by his parents, Dale and Linda Lucas of Gladewater, TX; his fiancée, Trisha Sholar and her daughter Olivia; his brother, Lonnie Lucas, II; his paternal grandmother, Betty Lucas and maternal grandmother H. Louise Mitchell; numerous aunts, uncles, family and friends. Tracy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Lonnie H. Lucas and maternal grandfather Albert E. Mitchell III.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 217 W Quitman, Gladewater, TX. During the service there will be an invitation to share your memories of Tracy. Please dress in your Aggie wear or casual clothes. A light lunch will follow downstairs in Jeter Hall.
In addition to the Gladewater celebration, there will be a service held in Tulsa, OK within the next few weeks at Tracy & Trisha’s church, Christian Chapel. In November there will be an Aggie tailgating party as well as a get together at Jekyll Island, GA beach in December.
