Tony Carl Shafer

On Friday, July 15, 2022, Tony Carl Shafer, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away at the age of 64.

Tony was born October 6, 1957 in Tulsa, Ok to Leon (Chig)

& Lila (Oller) Shafer.   He attended Collinsville Public Schools from 1st grade until he graduated in 1975. Tony was an eccentric  artist who beat to his own drum. Tony is the father of Tyler Stanley and Tara Shafer. Grandfather (or G) of Michael Capria and Reigha Capria. He was also proud to be G to Audrey, Luke, Amber and Andy. He always held a special place in his heart for Beth.

Tony had a passion for art.  He could paint a simple picture and it told a complete story. It made him happy to gift the piece to those who shared with him what they saw.   Tony's intellect, wit and photographic memory could almost guarantee you would lose the debate.  He also enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, wildlife, music and politics and his friends on the internet from all over the world.   His last great pleasure was writing and receiving letters in the mail from his grandchildren. Tony was known for  his weird sense of humor, his intellect, his huge heart and he was loved by many.

Tony was preceded in death by his father Leon and his mother Lila, his brother Mitchell Shafer. He is survived by his 2 children Tyler & Tara, 2 grandchildren Michael and Reigha, his sister and brother-in-law Burt and Kristie Vining and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tony will be laid to rest in Mulhall, OK at an unspecified date.
