Terry Urban Schlitz

Terry Urban Schlitz of Claremore, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. He was 73. Terry was born on February 2, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Arlys (Thompson) Schlitz. Terry moved from Minneapolis to Oklahoma in his early 20’s. He married Janet Schlitz on January 26, 1987 in Ft. Smith, AR. Terry worked for Flight Safety International as a Liaison Engineer until his retirement. He enjoyed working with stained glass, gardening (or watching his wife garden), and he had a great love of cats. Terry was loved by his family and will be missed by many.

Terry is survived by his wife Janet Schlitz of the home; children, Quint Schlitz and wife Cara, and Beth Henry and husband Steve; brothers, John Schlitz and Donnie Schlitz; grandchildren, Bradley Kirby, Gavin Henry, Alex Kirby, Brenna Henry, Connor Schlitz, and Ian Schlitz; and a host of extended family and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Lisa Kirby.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville with Pastor Gary Cate officiating. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
