Teri Kay Rush

April 3, 1954 — January 10, 2026

Oologah

It is with heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Teri Kay Rush, who transitioned from this life on January 10, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on April 3, 1954, in Grandview, Missouri, Teri lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Teri spent her childhood in Arkansas City, Kansas, where she graduated with the Class of '72. As a devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her two beloved sons, Jason and Dirk Foust. From cheering enthusiastically at their sporting events to proudly supporting them as a military mom, Teri's unwavering spirit and dedication were evident in all she did.

Her journey led her to Oklahoma, where she worked at John Zink, forming lasting friendships and embarking on many new adventures. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Michael Rush. Together, they forged a vibrant and fulfilling partnership, filled with weekend gatherings surrounded by family and friends. Whether hosting NASCAR parties, golfing, taking trips to the lake, or traveling to visit family in Kansas, Teri's life was a tapestry of joy and connection, always with Mike by her side.

Teri was a beloved school bus driver for Oologah Talala Public Schools, where she touched the lives of many children and families in her community, spreading kindness and warmth wherever she went. Her heart was enormous, and her laughter infectious, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Mike describes their time together as follows, "On February 29, 2004 I embarked upon a wonderful journey with this beautiful lady. We often had a discussion about the word "dash". Let me tell you about the dash.

Although it can be substituted for a pinch (a dash of salt), or for a sprint (40 yard dash), the dash is really about a journey.

Our journey includes children, grandchildren, and 2 great-grandsons. It covers travel to many states and multiple foreign countries. It includes friends (some for a reason, some for a season, and some for life). It includes our walk with God and our faith. Like many, ours includes love and an occasional disagreement. There are so many additional things that are a wonderful part of this dash.

This story about the dash is so that you can better understand the rest of the story.

Yesterday morning, my bride of 8,097 days, went to be with the Lord.
