Sylvia Dee Collins

July 12, 1938 — November 20, 2024

Sylvia Dee Collins, of Talala, OK, was called home in Heaven on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the age of 86.

The single most important pursuit of Sylvia’s life was to faithfully follow and seek the Lord.  Sylvia was an active and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, which she attended for many years.  She had a heart for service and regularly spent time volunteering in various capacities in both her church and community, including through the Oologah Historical Society, Oologah Historical Museum and the Rogers County voting polls.

Her love of flowers led Sylvia to open her own business in Oologah, Sylvia’s Flowers and Gifts, which she owned and operated for several years. She could regularly be found talking on the phone with her many friends or sending handwritten cards to let someone know how much she loved and cared for them. When speaking to her friends and even some strangers Sylvia would always speak glowingly of her family, particularly her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.

Sylvia’s vibrant spirit will be deeply missed, but her family and friends can rejoice in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Michael Collins, granddaughter, Cheyenne Collins and her parents, Sherman and Sylvia Ford.  Sylvia is survived by her husband of 67 years, ElDean Collins, son, Ken Collins and wife Debbie and son Jim Collins and wife, Deanna and daughter-in-law, Ruby Collins.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen Hunt and husband, Sean, Sara Carter and husband, Justin, Keith Collins, Paul Collins, Rick Emerson and wife, Stacy, Melissa Mathews, Scott Emerson and wife, Monnica, as well as great-grandchildren, Grayson Hunt, Holden Hunt, Brooklyn Hunt, Weston Carter, Waylon Carter, Henley Carter, Alaina Emerson, Ava Emerson, Ali Emerson, Everette Emerson and Kymera Emerson.

A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be at 10:00 am, Monday, November 25th, 2024, at Collinsville First Baptist Church, where family and friends gathered to remember and honor her legacy of faith, love and service.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
