Sterling Michael "Mike" Tuxbury, Jr.

Sterling Michael “Mike” Tuxbury, Jr. of Collinsville, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Tulsa.  He was 74.

Mike was born on August 1, 1947 in Trenton, MI to Sterling Michael Tuxbury, Sr. and the former Margaret Forrest. Mike is an Army veteran and proudly served his country during Vietnam.  He became a member the Collinsville American Legion and served as Vice President for a time. Mike’s faith was important to him, and he was an active member of Tri-County Baptist Church.  Mike enjoyed working with wood. He made his career as a carpenter and homebuilder. He owned goats and enjoyed playing with them or watching “goat tv” from his window.  One of his favorite activities was fishing.  Especially when he was able to do it with the grandkids.  Mike will be missed dearly.

Mike is survived by his wife Donna Jean Tuxbury of the home; his 3 children, Sterling Michael Tuxberry, III of Florida, Christopher Tuxberry of Texas, and Annabella Margaret Tuxbury of Washington; 4 step-children, Tonia Smith and husband Jerold, Michael Fowler, Jason Fowler, and Amanda Metzger and husband Joe; sisters, Gailynn Mickelson and Donna Foreman and husband Bob; multiple grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a wonderful church family and friends.  Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Marion Tuxbury; his father, Sterling Michael Tuxbury, Sr.; his sisters, Maggie Marion Hancock Felts and Toni Detta Gregory; and his nephew, Darren Lindsay.

Visitation for Mike will be Monday, August 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

The Family will hold a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Tri-County Baptist Church, 397930 W 4100 Rd, Skiatook, OK 74070, with Rev. Chris Cooper officiating.
