Silas Virgil Goodwin

Silas Virgil Goodwin, 84, resident of Collinsville since 1964, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Tulsa, OK. He was born April 22, 1938 in Bengal, OK to Oscar Silas Goodwin and the former Effie Reynolds. He started his career as a machinist for Neilson Manufacturing in 1957 and work there until 1969. He then went to work for Machine Engineering in 1971 until 1982. In 1984 he worked for Mingo Manufacturing until his retirement in 2003. He loved to ride horses and calf roping. He also enjoyed taking many vacations on his motorcycle.

Visitation will be Noon to 8:00 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Hone Chapel with Pastor Andrew Dempsey officiating.

He is survived by his wife: Sharon Goodwin of the home, 1 son: James Goodwin of Collinsville, 2 grandsons: Austin Zachary Goodwin and Cody Wayne Goodwin, 1 great-grandson: Silas Ray Goodwin. He is also survived by: half-brother: Walter Mock and step-brother: Donald Green and his wife Ruth Ann.

He is preceded in death by: 1 son: Virgil Duane Goodwin, 2 brothers: Alfred Leon Goodwin and Charles Dean Goodwin and 5 sisters: Hettie Elizabeth Beeson, Imogene Lewis, Lucille Sims, Clarissa Becker and Sarah Rustin.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
