Sidney Brice Henry

December 15, 1932 — November 26, 2018

Sidney Brice Henry, born December 15, 1932 was called home to our Lord on November 26, 2018, at the age of 85.   Sidney, better known as “Sid” and later known as “Papa”, was born to Thelma (Lewis) Henry and Jess Henry in Monte Ne (Rogers), Arkansas. Sid married at the age of 18 to Bobbie Jean Stanphill on December 16, 1950, where they resided the majority of their life in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Sid lived his life to the fullest and cherished every moment. He was known to many as a fighter, diagnosed at a young age with a severe disability, he fought every day to keep moving and always had a smile on his face. When he wasn’t building a home for a new family or four wheeling the mountain trails during hunting season, he was on a dance floor with his wife or singing tenor with his children at family gatherings. When asked, he would say his greatest accomplishment was raising five children, who would later bless him with his pride and joy, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He taught his children and grandchildren the importance of hard work and craftsmanship, but mostly he taught them how to love and respect others in all walks of life. Sid spent his final days in Davenport, Oklahoma, where he was surrounded by his friends and family.

Sid was preceded in death by father Jess Henry, mother Thelma Henry; and brothers Dempsey Henry, Sequoyah (Corky) Henry, and Delmer Henry, and sisters Edna Smallwood, Melba Fielding and Susie Bromley and grandchild Terry Lee Henry.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie (Stanphill) Henry of home, his children, sons Terry Henry and wife Snookie Weaver of Foyil, Oklahoma, Lindel Henry of Davenport, Oklahoma, Mike and Denise Henry of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Randy Henry of Talalah, Oklahoma, and daughter Lisa Norton and husband Lee Norton of Davenport, Oklahoma, and daughter-in-law Sherrie Alderson of Collinsville, Oklahoma. Other survivors include his sister Artie Fielding and brother Ronnie Henry. He was survived by many grandchildren Samantha Baker, Dusty Henry, Bobby Norton and wife April Norton, Sydne Norton-Austin and husband Shawn Austin, Jessie Harper and husband Chris Harper, Jake Henry and wife Marti Henry, Wayland Weaver and Wesley Weaver. His great grandchildren include Isaac, Bailey and Jordan Baker, Kaycen and Brycen Austin, Nolan Harper, Landon Kusik, Brilee and Kohen Henry, and Tocarra, McKaylon, McKenzie, Wyatt, and Dallas Weaver.
