Shelsey Paige Dawes, a beloved daughter, niece, cousin, and friend, was born on July 30, 1992, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, she left this world far too soon, passing away on February 21, 2026, in Oologah, Oklahoma. Shelsey possessed a vibrant spirit and a deep love for those around her, who will undoubtedly miss her warm presence.
She worked for a time doing remote online research for Tour24, demonstrating her intellect and determination. Alongside her professional pursuits, Shelsey had a profound passion for music, finding solace and joy in the melodic tunes of Pink Floyd, who was among her favorite bands. Music was one of the many ways she expressed herself and connected with the world.
Shelsey was also a true cat lover, caring for an impressive number of 16 cats around her property—each one reflecting her nurturing heart. Her love for animals was just another testament to the compassionate and caring individual she was.
Attending Life Church brought her comfort and connection to her faith, where she cultivated and cherished her community. Shelsey's vibrant spirit touched many lives, and her legacy will live on through the memories shared by those she loved.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her father, Shaun Dawes, mother, Jennifer White and Mark Hignite, and numerous extended family members who cherished her dearly. Shelsey is also remembered fondly by her relatives, including her aunt, Shelley Morton and husband Gene, uncles Nicholas Hembree and Brian Anderson, aunt Georgianna Oliver, great uncle Jim White, and cousins Raya Hembree, Andrea Hembree, Skyler Cooper, Wesley Anderson and Ryan Davis, and a host of extended family and friends.
In mourning her passing, we also remember those who have gone before her, including her grandfather, Leon Dawes, and her grandmothers, Wanda Ervin and Phyllis White. Each of these departed loved ones surely welcomed her with open arms.
A visitation in honor of Shelsey will be held on February 25, 2026, at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, located at 1302 West Main Street, Collinsville, Oklahoma. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM as we gather to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
Though Shelsey's time with us was brief, the impact she made in our hearts will last a lifetime. Her light and warmth will continue to shine in the memories we hold dear.
In honor of Shelsey's love for cats, the family requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to your local cat shelter.
