Sarah LeAnn Ausmus, 21, of Chesterfield, MO, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010. She was born January 26, 1989 in Tulsa, Ok to Angela Ullrich and Kyle Ausmus.
Sarah had a family that loved her infinitely. She was beautiful and intelligent. Her since of humor and playful attitude will always be remembered. Sarah was very compassionate; a friend to anyone who would let her into his or her life, even animals. I think she has had every pet known to man; Hedgehog, lizard, goat, birds, rabbits, cats, dogs. Anything she found astray she wanted to take in and care for it.
From the time she was born Sarah has brought joy and laughter into the lives of others. There have been several people saved through the testimony of her life and witness. She was a miracle baby having her 1st surgery at 3 days old and given the sentence of Cystic Fibrosis.
When she was little she sucked her thumb and carried her blanket everywhere. She would not leave without it. She still had her blankie that she took everywhere with her up to the day she died. She had so many hospital stays in her life that when she was out she wanted to live it up. She will always be remembered as the one that always wanted to Go Go Go and Do Do Do!
One of her greatest pleasures was being with the people she loved, especially her daughter Alayna and eating spaghetti, Chinese food, crab legs, steak.
When Sarah was twelve she has major bowel resection surgery. Her intestines never woke up so she had another surgery 3 weeks later. We almost lost her. She told us that Angels came to visit her and sat in the rocking chair while she was in the ICU. She said she saw Jesus and he asked if she was ready, she said she wanted to live as she still had things to do. She wanted to grow up, get married, have a baby and the house with the white picket fence. Sadly she was only able to accomplish one but wow what an accomplishment. Alayna is a miracle baby herself as Sarah was told she could probably not have children but there she is, Alayna was delivered at 7 months weighing 3 lbs. 14oz. Sarah loved Alayna with all her heart and was so proud of her. It was her dream come true and she looks and acts just like her.
She struggled so much in life and love it was hard to find her place in this world with all the illness that got in her way. She had another major bowel resection surgery in April 2009 and she was in such pain. As her struggle with the disease continued she started to wonder why God did not help her get better. After this last surgery she decided to pray that if God was not going to heal her then He needed to come and get her. She was in the hospital just about every other month since then. She was tired; Tired of being sick, tired of hurting, tired of being lonely without friends. This last battle was just more that she could fight. She was hoping that Jesus would come back soon and take us all home together.
She listened to music often to keep herself occupied and this was one of her favorite songs.
She is survived by her daughter, Alayna Ausmus of the home, her mother: Angela Ullrich and her husband David of the home, her father, Kyle Ausmus of Idabel, OK, one brother, Chad Ausmus, Maternal-Grandparents, Stan and Barbara Turner of Collinsville, OK and Paternal Grandfather, Bill Ausmus of Idabel, OK. She is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery.
