Ruth Marie Richardson

Ruth Marie Richardson was born in Malvern, AR on October 27, 1930 to Coma Lee Doris. Ruth spent her childhood years around the family farm in Rockport.  At 14 the family moved to Torrance, CA where her sister Ruby Jones still lives.  Ruth graduated from Narbonne High School where she was active in sports and choir.

Ruth married Gene Lotgering with whom they had two children David born October 3, 1950 and Nancy born December 7 1952.  Later she married Clyde Richardson who had four children Katy, John, Teresa, and Doris whom she raised as her own and they also adopted and raised two grandchildren Shannon and Jimmy.

In the summer of 1966, they moved to Broken Arrow, OK which is in Tulsa County, Ok.  They lived there until the children graduated.  Moved to a 40-acre farm in Big Cabin, OK.  They purchased land in Collinsville, OK where they had a house built.

Ruth was active in her churches, helped with the Girls Auxiliary  (GA’s), camp counselor, helping in the kitchen, and baking cake, banana pudding, and cookies which everyone looked forward too.  Even today there is a box of toys for the children when they come into her home.

Ruth worked a variety of jobs outside the home.  Started in a trophy factory where she sanded the wooden components trophies.  Later, took classes where she learned soldering and electronic assembly. Those skills were used for the rest of her working life.  She worked around Santa Anna, California making components for the military and space program.  Some were used in Top Secret sensors used to protect our armed forces in Southeast Asia.  Finished her working career in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  It is possible that a piece that she assembled may still  be abord Luner Lander components left on the Moon.

Ruth is survived by her sister Ruby Jones,  half-sister Linda Horton, two children David and Nancy, three step-children Katy, Teresa, Doris, and adopted children Shannon and Jimmy.  David has two children Kimberly and John and a grandson Gavin.  Nancy has one son Kieth and two grandsons Matthew and Brian.  There are also many children and grandchildren from Clyde’s children.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Gene and Clyde, Clyde’s son John, and all her brothers and sisters.
