Russell "Rusty" Gene Gott

Russell (Rusty) G. Gott, 70, of Collinsville, OK was born in Springfield, MO on February 18, 1950. He passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 in Tulsa, OK.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Juanita Dunlap and his stepfather, Floyd Dunlap, his father: Dolin Gott and his stepmother, Elaine Gott, brothers: Gary Gott and Larry Gott.

He is survived by his wife, Frances. They married in September 7, 1974.

He is also survived by a sister: Kay Walker and her husband Vaughn of Iola, KS, Sister-n-laws: Margaret Bennett of Humboldt, KS and  Sandra Hick of Collinsville, OK, nephews: Tony Hutton, Jamie Hicks, John Hutton, Tad Whitney, Clinton Gott, Ramsey Gott, Austin Gott and spouses, nieces: Becky Bennett, Susie Bennett, Samatha Larney and spouses.

He was a Seaman Bosun, worked on a Tug Boat while in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served for 2 years.

He loved his fishing, going to the casino and woodworking. He never knew a stranger, was always willing to help others anyway he could and building furniture for his family. He had lived in Collinsville for over 37 years, retired from Overhead Door of Tulsa for the past 3 years.

Visitation will be Noon to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A funeral service to honor the life of Rusty will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola, Kansas. Family will greet friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas.
