Ronald Gene Witten

Ronald Gene Witten, 85, of Collinsville, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at home in Collinsville He was born February 25, 1931 in Cyril, Oklahoma to Wayne Witten and Dovie Moody Witten.

Ronald graduated from Cyril High School and married Bobbie Burlene Pritchett in 1950. He started his career at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. A few years later, they moved to Tulsa, OK where he was employed at American Airlines for 25 years as a crew chief in the machine shop. In 1963, they moved to Collinsville, Oklahoma.

He founded Mingo Manufacturing of Owasso in 1980 and retired from there in 1998. After retiring from Mingo Manufacturing, he continued to remain active as a manufacturing consultant to Witten Company of Owasso.

He is survived by his wife Bobbie Witten, and three children: Don Witten and wife Sheryl of Collinsville, Ray Witten and wife Rene of Owasso, and Carol Oster and husband James of Tulsa. Ronald is survived by his sister Marjorie Butler of Ada, brothers Truman Witten of Ada and David Witten of Bartonville, Texas. Three grandchildren also survive him:Todd Witten, Jaclyn Brylczyk, Barret Witten and 6 great-grandchildren: Mason Walton, Emma Witten, Blake Witten, Mela Brylczyk, Tyler Witten and Claire Witten. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ for over 50 years and served as an elder for 38 of those years.

His hobbies were camping and fishing with friends in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. He enjoyed snowmobiling, restoring classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8 at West Main Event Center located at 1011 W Main, Collinsville, Oklahoma with Kyle Brewer and Wayne Herriman officiating. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
