Robert Wayne Anderson

May 21, 1932 — January 19, 2021

Robert Wayne Anderson born May 21, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to George Franklin Anderson and Martha Ann (Brown) Anderson. He went to be with Jesus January 19, 2021.

Visitation will be Noon to 8:00 pm, Friday January 22, 2021 at the Collinsville Dolton  Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Collinsville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tim Odom officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Nora “Deloras” (Keitz) Anderson of the home.

He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Wayne Anderson, Jr., his parents, a brother, Franklin George Anderson, and son-n-law, David Wayne Borthick.

Survived by daughters; Jean Ann Pate of Cheyenne, WY, E. Michelle Borthick, and Nora Kaye Anderson both of Collinsville, OK.

Grandsons; Paul Borthick and wife Ashley of Lavon, TX, Cody Wayne Pate and wife Jessie of Helena, MT, Joshua Dean Borthick of Tulsa, OK, Zachery Troy Pate and Sarah Ross of San Diego, CA, Jeremiah Brian Pate and wife Katana of Cheyenne, WY.

Granddaughters; Rebecca Sue Borthick-DeBoer and Husband Brent of Claremore, OK, Sarah Keaunah Byers, and Jessica Love Byers of Tulsa, OK.

Great-grandchildren; Jordan, Nick, Jason, Logan, Katie, Lilly, and Sulley, and 5 Great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his Sister, Martha Esther Cavnar and husband Maurice “Red” of Oklahoma City, OK. He had many beloved Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins from far and wide.

Bob joined the Army, 45 th Division while still at Northeast High School in OKC. He was mobilized to Korea where he served with the 45 th Quartermaster Corps driving supplies for 2 years. He returned home to marry the love of his life, Deloras, in 1952.  He finished High School, enlisted in The Air National Guard and enrolled at Bethany Penial College which was later changed to Southern Nazarene University, majoring in education and music. He had various jobs as a Truck Driver, Insurance Salesman, Typewriter Salesman, before becoming an Apprentice Electrician with his father. He joined IBEW#584 as a Journeyman Electrician working various Union projects with numerous companies. After working as an electrician he retired. He came out of retirement to teach future electricians at the Vatterott College in Tulsa, then he retired again.

Bob grew up attending Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene. Was a Charter Member of Lakeview Nazarene Church. Moved to Collinsville in 1972 where he and his family joined the Collinsville Church of the Nazarene. He had a life time of service as Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, Board Member and different Committees. He loved his Lord, his church and music. He had an amazing tenor voice and continued to sing specials until 2 years ago when he was handed the mic for an impromptu solo.

Bob was in scouting as a young man, and he served the Collinsville community as a Boy Scout Leader.

He played a mean game of softball as a pitcher, an amazing bowler. In his later years, skip-bo and dominoes were his games of choice, and he usually beat the pants off of all comers. He was an avid fisherman, boater and camper. He took his family on several wonderful trips across America, visiting many of the National Parks.

Starting as a child and continuing over the years, there have been some wonderful Anderson family reunions. Bob and his 1 st cousins continued that tradition. He loved the time he spent with his cousins.

He was an amazing man. Loved and admired by those he also loved and mentored.
