Richie Ovel Dean, 76, of Collinsville, OK passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 in Owasso. He was born on April 19, 1938 in Vinita, OK to Richard E. and Gloria Hope (Smith) Dean. Richie has lived in the area for most of his life and even served as Fire Chief for the Vera Community Volunteer Fire Department many years ago. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator until his retirement and was known as one of the best. Richie was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 627. His hobbies included fishing, being outdoors, working on tractors, and cheering on the OSU Cowboys.
Richie Dean is survived by his 4 children, Mindy Gosvener and husband Doug, Rickie Dean and wife Theresa, Mike Dean and Jani Lower, and Lesia Heath and husband Jeff; his brothers, Tommy Dean and wife Louise, and Mike Dean and wife Judy; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Richie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Viann Villines.
Visitation for Richie will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:30 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday, March 16, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Collinsville Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Adcock officiating. Interment will follow at Buck Creek Cemetery, Vera, OK. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
