Richard Dean Packett

Richard Dean Packett, 85, of Collinsville. He was born to Christine (Barrett) Packett and Clyde Packett of Pawnee City, Nebraska. Richard spent most of his adult life in Collinsville where he worked in the oil fields and proudly served 28 years with the Collinsville Fire Department where he retired as the Fire Chief.
Richard was born on May 24, 1924 and passed away on November 30, 2009.
He is survived by one brother, Lowell Packett and wife Peggy of Nebraska; son Clyde Packett of Tulsa; daughter Christy Walton and husband Todd of Edmond; 5 step daughters, Nanci Collier and husband Jerry of Collinsville, Mary Ray and husband David of Collinsville, Sue England and husband Ronald of Owasso, Dorothy Hartloper of Owasso, and Robin Farris of Texas; 1 step son, Steven Hardester of Collinsville; 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Margret Packett; his father, Clyde Packett; his mother, Christine Packett; his brothers, Byford Packett and Robert Packett; 1 son, Scott Packett; step sons, Leon Hardester and Mike Hardester; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
