Richard Lee Norris

March 31, 1958 — May 12, 2022

In loving memory of Richard Lee Norris, “Rick” was called home May 12, 2022, at the age of 64.

Rick was born in Fairmont, West Virginia to Bernice and Charles Norris. He graduated from West Fairmont High School and received a football scholarship to Fairmont University. Rick enjoyed woodwork and made beautiful art using his gifts of imagination and patience.

Visitation will be 1:30 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Collinsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery.

He married Mary McFarland on Sept. 21, 2019 after being together 22 years. Rick loved spending time with family and friends and always talked about going to the beach. He loved to sit on the porch, watch the waves and drink coffee. Rick also coached softball. He spent many years at the softball field in Collinsville. He enjoyed coaching his daughter’s teams and had a huge impact on Collinsville Softball Association.

Rick was known for his incredible generosity and kindness. He would give anyone the shirt off his back or a plate of food if needed. His family will remember him as always making sure they eat 2 plates before they got a snack. He was funny, smart and a wonderful husband, father and friend. Anyone who walked in his house and dinner was done, had to get a plate before they left or take a to go plate.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Norris, and his parents, Bernice and Phillip Diamond, and in-laws, Linda and Ray McFarland.

His legacy will live on by his wife, Mary Norris, his brother, Chuck and wife Val of West Virginia, Diane and husband George Williams of New Jersey, Leisa and Husband Clint Lackey of South Carolina and brother Mark Diamond of Nevada. Also by his children, Cassi and Justin Almy of Nowata, Dee Dee and Chris Vinson of Salina, Thomas Williams of Bartlesville, Breanna Wolfe of Collinsville, Kendall Norris of Collinsville, and Micaela and Josh Hanna of Collinsville. Also grandchildren, Skylar, Zaylee, Colten, Ty, Abbygail, Serena, Jayden, Emily and Kyla and 2 Great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
