Raymond Lee Wright, 84, of Collinsville, OK passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 in Collinsville. He was born May 17, 1924 in Tulsa, OK to Orville and Elberta Wright. He was educated in Lawton and Collinsville. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1950. He was member of the First Baptist Church, the Air Force Association, a 32Nd Degree Mason, a life member of the V.F.W., C.B.I. Hump Pilot Association and the Oklahoma Alumni Association.

He served in the Air Force during WWII as a Pilot Troop Carrier. He was awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. He did 4 Missions in Northern Central Burma. He served in the A.F. Rescue, USAF and the national guard for a total of 32 years.

He was a retired Civil Service employee, Air National Guard and a Flight Training Instructor.
He is survived by his sister, Lillian Heckenkamp, a nephew, John Heckenkamp and a niece, Judy Griffen.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Freeda and a brother, Orville “Windy”.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wana T. Archer officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
