Randall “Randy” Mark Smith
April 27, 1964 – June 24, 2026
Randall “Randy” Mark Smith, 62, passed away on June 24, 2026. He was born to Elliott and Janet Smith in Kingsport, Rhode Island on April 27, 1964. As part of a proud military family, Randy grew up moving to various communities before settling in California. There, he graduated with the Class of 1982 from Milpitas High School, where he followed in the military tradition by serving in the ROTC.
In the late 1980s, Randy moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to pursue his passion for aviation at the Spartan School of Aeronautics. His education launched a dedicated career with Intercontinental Jet, where he served as a skilled crew chief for 33 years until his retirement on July 1, 2025.
On May 1, 1993, Randy married Layhoma Ann, and the two shared a beautiful life together until her passing in 2017. In 2019, Randy met Billie Allen and the two committed to spending their lives together while lovingly raising Randy’s granddaughter, Rebecca “his sweet girl”.
Outside of his career, Randy was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping, and he had a fascination with trains. He loved setting off fireworks with his children and grandchildren and teaching them to ride bicycles. At home, he worked in his yard, spending countless hours creating a fun area for Rebecca, a peaceful retreat for himself and Billie, and a welcoming space to host family get-togethers. As his family fondly remembers, he was also quite the dancer.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Janet Smith, and wife, Layhoma.
He leaves behind his wife, Billie Allen Smith; his son, Andrew Smith and wife Laci; his daughter, Elizabeth Smith; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Farley, whom he and Billie were raising. He is also survived by his bonus children, Seth Allen and wife Cheyenne, and Isabella Ganaway and husband Bryce; his grandchildren, Allison, Skarlette, Daniel Alexander, William, Thomas, Luca, and a soon-to-be-expected granddaughter, Eloise; and his two brothers, Lee Smith and Michael Smith.
