Polly Lou Burgess

Polly Lou Burgess of Collinsville, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the age of 95.  She was born on June13, 1929 in St. Louis, OK to William Wade and Katie Lee (Moak) Fox II.  She graduated high school in Norman and attended the University of Oklahoma, earning her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.  She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority while attending OU.  Polly was an avid traveler and visited countries all over the world.  After retirement, Polly became a door greeter at Walmart and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the shoppers.  Her favorite hobby was solving crossword puzzles.  She held a daily subscription to the Tulsa World.  Not to read the paper, but to solve the daily crossword.  Polly will be missed by many.

Polly is survived by her daughters, Linda Burgess and Janie Phillips; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Rake and wife Jordyn, Brettley Rake, and Erin Higgins and husband Derrick; her great grandchildren, Harvey Rake, Harper Perry, Gauge Buckmaster, Tristen Barnes, and Bailey Barnes.  Polly was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Harvey Burgess; her parents, William and Katie Fox II; sister Peggy Coates; and brother William Wade Fox III.

Visitation for Polly will be Monday, July 1, 2024, from 9am-8pm at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Carney officiating.  Services will conclude in the chapel.
