Peggy Annette Ross

Peggy Annette Ross, of Collinsville, OK passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, after a brief illness. Peggy was born June 19, 1930 in Vera, OK to Lewis and Minta (McDonald) Lyman. On August 19, 1950 she married Daniel Leon (Joe) Ross of Collinsville.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 73 years, Daniel L. Ross, and by her six children: Daniel L. Ross of Tucson, AZ, Joseph L. Ross of Southern Arizona, Andrew W. Ross of Claremore, OK, Timothy W. Ross of Johnson City, TN, Kay Paul Ross of Collinsville, and Rose Marie Ross Hamidi of Orange, CA. She is also survived by the spouses of her children, and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by two brothers: Elmo Lyman, and Donald Lyman (who died as a young child), and by three sisters: Betty Lyman Joiner, Phyllis Lyman Heaton, and Donna Lyman Wright. She is survived by her sister, Saundra Lyman Rogers.

Peggy was an educator who taught third grade students in Brook, IN. She was a member of First Christian Church of Brook, IN and Vera, OK Christian Church. Peggy was a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She enjoyed feeding birds and cats, gardening and flowers, visiting family and friends, reading a book or working crossword puzzles.

Peggy’s funeral service will take place on March 6, 2023 at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home in Collinsville. Visitation of the family is set from 12-2:00pm, Funeral service at 2:00pm, with burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
