Peggy Joyce Pope

Peggy Joyce Pope a lifelong resident of Collinsville, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 in Claremore. She was 75. Peggy was born on February 8, 1932 to Barto and Mattie Gray in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married Paul Richard Pope with whom she raised four sons. She worked as a nurse at the Collinsville Nursing Home before retiring.

Peggy had a great love for her family and friends. Friends were considered family in her eyes. Peggy’s hobbies included sewing, building doll houses, and knitting afghans. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville. She touched the lives of many and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Peggy is survived by her Husband, Paul Richard Pope of the home; 4 Sons, Jack Pope and his wife Evelyn of Sand Springs, Dennis Pope and his wife Marcie of San Diego, CA, Michael Pope and his wife Volinda of Collinsville, and Alan Pope of the home; 8 Grandchildren, Waite Dale, Robert, Jerry, Christina, Amber, Haylee, Anna and Michael; 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; numerous family and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Barto and Mattie Gray.

No formal visitation is planned. Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects and sign the Memorial Book Monday, July 23, 2007 at Collinsville Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville. Under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home.
