Peggy Jean Douglass

Peggy Jean Douglass of Collinsville, OK passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 82. Peggy was born on February 17, 1934 to Francis Leard and Maggie Jane (Akins) Thomason in Oologah, OK. She married Clifford Jerry Douglass on November 22, 1952 in Tulsa, OK, and together they raised 3 children. Peggy worked for McDonnell Douglas for 31 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Shelter Free Will Baptist Church and the Shelter FWB Ladies Auxiliary, a UAW union member and officer (steward), and a Democratic voter registrar. She was a lifelong resident of the Collinsville area and will be missed by many.

Peggy is survived by her husband Jerry Douglass of the home; her children, Vickie Lynn Chamberlain, Brent George Douglass, and Gregory Don Douglass; brothers, Robert L. Thomason and Donald Thomason; grandchildren, Jennifer Amen, Julie Heaton, Eric Douglass, Shane Douglass, and Jacob Douglass; step-grandchildren, Kristina Whitmore, Bo Whitmore, and Chad Chamberlain; great grandchildren, Leilani Amen and Jonah Amen. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings, Ina Mel Glance, Bart Thomason, Etta Mae Burdick, Ruby Garrison, and Reon Williams.

Visitation for Peggy will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Shelter Free Will Baptist Church in Collinsville with Rev. David Bilby officiating. Interment will follow at Wann Cemetery.
