Patricia "Pat" Dare Williams

Patricia “Pat” Dare Williams, 89, passed away on September 24, 2013 peacefully at her home in Norman, Oklahoma. Pat was born on July 1, 1924 in Wynona Oklahoma to Alexander Dare McCord and Edith Pearl (Fisher) McCord. She was raised in Foraker, Oklahoma where she graduated in 1942. Pat spent many years as a ranch hand on the Chapman-Barnard Ranch where she met the love of her life David Lillingston Williams. They were married on January 5, 1966 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They had one Daughter, Patricia “Tricia” Dare (Williams) Gardner. The family moved to Oologah, Oklahoma in 1969 where her husband was the undersheriff of Rogers County and Pat worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer at Court Related and Community Services. She retired from there in 1989 and went on to work with Roger’s County Child Welfare for many years. During this period, Pat went to Oklahoma University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Pat loved to travel with her family. She visited most of the States and many other countries including her favorite New Zealand, and a couple of trips to Africa.

She is survived by her daughter, Tricia, her son-in-law, Michael Gardner, her Granddaughter, Alexandria Dare Gardner, all of Norman, Oklahoma, and her loving cousin Polly Jean “Sis” (McCord) Weir, of Tacora Hills, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Oologah United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Denslow officiating.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
