Nicky Joe Weabe, age 72, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nicky was the son of the late Nick and Frances Weabe. He was a lifelong resident of Collinsville and a proud graduate of Collinsville High School, Class of 1971. Collinsville was not just his hometown, but the place where he built his life, friendships, and lasting memories.
He later earned a college degree in Computer Science, a field that would shape his long and successful career. Nicky worked as a Computer IT Specialist and Data Recovery Specialist for many major companies, including American Airlines, Texaco, Amoco, and IBM. He was highly respected for his knowledge, problem-solving skills, and dedication to his work.
In 1974, Nicky married the love of his life, Betty Bartholomew. Together they shared fifty-one years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters.
Nicky had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, snorkeling, and taking vacations with his family. He was especially proud of his 1973 Volkswagen Thing, which he loved driving around and taking to car shows. More than anything, he treasured attending his grandchildren’s activities and cheering them on in all their endeavors.
A man of strong faith, Nicky attended Collinsville Church of the Nazarene from a young age and remained a devoted member throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Weabe of Collinsville; his daughter Jennifer Shackelford and her husband Lonnie, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; his daughter Shelly Edgar and her husband John of Sperry, Oklahoma; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Weabe, Emery Edgar, Zoe Shackelford, Isabel Edgar, and Ethan Edgar; and his sister Vickie Black and her husband, Bill of Collinsville; and countless family members and friends.
Nicky will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his funny sense of humor, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
