Neil Howard Stamper

Chief Master Sergeant Neil Howard Stamper was born on January 17, 1953, in Tulsa, Ok to Howard & Maxine Stamper. He earned his highest of honors on January 7, 2025, when he took his final journey to Heaven to rest with Jesus.

Neil attended Owasso High School & was a proud member of the Class of 1971. He joined the Tulsa Air National Guard in September 1972 after an active-duty tour in the Air Force. He had many other jobs before starting his career in the military. He had a very decorated & respected military career for the span of 43 years, receiving numerous awards, medals & honors before retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 2009. He then went to work for Signature Series Homes until 2018. He was a member of the VFW in Collinsville & played a very active role in all their events & activities. He was actively involved in the Funeral Honor Guard for both Collinsville & Skiatook performing in close to a hundred services last year.

Neil was known by many names Chief, Julio, Fat Boy, Old Dude, Chiefness, Dad but Poppie was what he was most proud of. His grandchildren & great grandbabies were his pride & joy along with his most loved companion Rosie Girl Stamper. He was a constant supporter in their functions & activities & loved watching them do everything from Rodeo to Teeball. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting, watching car races at Caney Valley Speedway, breakfast with his closest buds, Wednesday burgers & beer at Smitty's, as well as working gun shows with his close friend Donnie.

He is preceeded in death by his parents Howard & Maxine Stamper. He is survived by his daughters Amy Haddock & Melissa Crawford, grandson Colbe Haddock, granddaughters Carsyn Haddock, Cadyn Haddock Cole, great granddaughter Maci Haddock, great grandson Maverick Haddock. Grandson Matt King, sister Denise Thomas, her husband Larry Thomas, many other extended family members, so many close friends, buds & classmates as well as brothers from the 138th Fighter Wing. He touched & impacted hundreds of lives & was very important to so many. If you knew him, you loved & respected him. The void in our hearts will forever remain but his legacy & Neilisms will live on in all who loved him. He will forever be missed. Fly high Chief.

Chief Master Sergeant Neil Howard Stamper's Graveside Service will be held January 24th @ 2:00 at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville (close friends and family). We will be honoring him with a Celebration of Life Ceremony following the Graveside service at the VFW in Collinsville. All are welcome to attend. Viewing for Neil will be 9am-8pm Wednesday 22nd with family present 4pm-6pm & 9am-8pm Thursday 23rd with family present from 12pm-2pm & 5pm-7pm at Collinsville Dolton funeral home.
