Melvin G. Atwell

Melvin Gerald Atwell, 87, of Collinsville, OK passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. He was born January 30, 1925 in Naylor, MO to John and Lillie (Gamble) Atwell. He had lived in Collinsville for 6 years having moved from Lindsay, OK. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville.

He is survived by his wife Dortha Atwell of the home, 3 children: Brenda Stephens and her husband Larry of Collinsville, OK, Dewayne Atwell and his wife Laura of Tomball, TX and Wyman Atwell and his wife Kim of Rogers, AR. 1 brother: Vadis Atwell and his wife Norma of MerRouge, LA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and a granddaughter, Ashley Atwell.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
