Maurice Edward Stokley

Maurice Edward Stokley, 93, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Oologah. Maurice was born September 24, 1917 in Granby, MO to Alfred Marion and Susan Olie (Mathis) Stokley. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He married Lesta Dickson and together they raised their two sons. They have lived in the Oologah area since 1960 and were members of the First Baptist Church of Oologah. Maurice worked as an Inspector for American Airlines for 33 years until his retirement. Some of his hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and especially fishing. He will be missed by many.

Maurice is survived by his wife Lesta Stokley of the home; 2 sons, Marion Newton Stokley and his wife Pat and Ron Edward Stokley and his wife Sue; 7 Grandchildren; and 10 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Melvin Stokley, his sister Violet Combs and an infant son, Darrell Eugene Stokley.

Visitation: Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Oologah Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Oologah. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m., at Little Cemetery near Seminole.
