Matthew Lee Slack, Sr. passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Oologah, OK. He was 72. Matthew was born June 29, 1938 in Omaha, NE. He was raised in Baton Rouge, LA by Norman Edward and Marion (Oakes) Slack. He served in the Navy and fought in the Vietnam War. He retired after 20 years of proudly serving his country. In the military, Matthew learned his trade as an electrician. He worked for Industrial Controls of Oklahoma until his retirement. Matthew and his wife Connie moved to Oklahoma from Louisiana in 1981. He was a member of the Oologah Masonic Lodge and his hobbies included fishing and target shooting.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Connie Slack of the home; 5 children, Matthew Lee Slack, Jr. and wife Judith, Tana Kay Freeman and husband Faron, Katherine Lutz and husband William, Stacye Ann Beaver and husband Ronald, and Johnny Eugene Parrish and wife Tammy; his brother, Emmett Earl Slack and wife Cyndy; his sister, Elizabeth Partin and husband Frank; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, family, and friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Amber Slack.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with the family receiving guests at that time. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. both at Oologah Dolton Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore.
