Mary Jean Hellen, 84, of Collinsville, Ok passed away peacefully at home in Collinsville on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. She was born Febuary 23, 1926 in Muskogee, OK to Moro K. Hatfield and the former Gladys L. Elrod. She married Karl Hellen on January 24, 1948 in Muskogee, OK. She was a member of the Meadowcreek United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star for 45 years and the Gladiola’s Garden Club of Tulsa. She was a crafter making candles, Tatting Notes, Floral Design, Caning Chairs and canning Jelly being known as the “Jelly Lady”. She also sold Avon and Home Interiors.
She is survived by her husband, Karl of the home. 3 children: Barbra Elisabeth Gay and her husband Jerry of Skiatook, Robert M. Hellen and his wife Georgia of Sperry, OK and Joseph M. Pope and his wife Pamela of Poolville, TX. She is also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Elwin D. Hatfield.
Visitation will be noon to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Meadowcreek United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
