Martha Joann Sellmeyer Begley Pennington, a loving mother and grandmother, community supporter, and lifelong foodie passed away on November 26th, 2023, at the age of 84. Born in Broken Arrow and raised on her family farm in Oologah, she dedicated her life to her family and the Oologah community. She owned and operated the famous Catfish Kitchen on Hwy 88 for years.
Martha is proceeded in death by her parents, Arville George and Golda Pearl Sellmeyer, first husband Clayton Begley, husband Joe Pennington, son Mark Edward Begley, and great grandson Lane Sellmeyer Begley.
She is survived by children Rhonda Begley, widow of Mark, Christopher Neal Begley and wife Beth of Oologah, Jeffrey Sellmeyer Begley and fiancé Marvonne Roberts of Oologah and Theresia Begley of Oologah. Stepchildren Daryle Curtis Pennington and his wife Delene of Oologah, Dennis Ray Pennington and his wife Connie of Oologah, Donel Dean Pennington and wife Crystal of Claremore, Denise Jolynn Pennington of Collinsville; grandchildren Jerrod Phillips, Jana Phillips, Jason and Lindsay Cole, Rian Nichole Begley, Kyleigh and Jared Brewer, Christopher Kole Sellmeyer Begley, Chelsi Begley, Sean and Kayla Ault, Brady Sellmeyer and Gates Alexis Begley, Paden Dooley Begley, Ryan Dean Pennington, Makyla Dawn Pennington, Amelia Rose Pennington and Tim Baldwin; great grandchildren Avery Cole, Makenna Cole, Nora Grace Brewer, Lorelai Pearl Marie Brewer, Jared Titus Neal Brewer, Tucker Dean Begley, Dawson Ray Begley, Porter Dawn Begley, Taylor Ault, Katherine Elizabeth Begley, Walker Sellmeyer Begley, Emmalynn Begley, JaKaivion Lamar Gable, Freedom Raine Gable, Izsac Nehemiah Baldwin, Shi’Montay Azariah Baldwin, Dahzia Baldwin.
Respects can be made at the visitation on Thursday, November 30 from 12-8 p.m., family present from 5-7p.m., held at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home and the funeral service on Friday, December 1, at 10 a.m. held at the Oologah Assembly of God Church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her adoring parents and loving spouse at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Oologah.
