Margie Melvina Core

Margie Melvina Core, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Claremore.  Margie was born on September 26, 1934 in Scranton, AR to Hassell and Ocie (Knight) Spicer.  She graduated from Scranton High School in 1952.  Margie married Pat Core on January 2, 1954 and together they raised three children. Though they lived in a few different places over the years, such as Tulsa and Scranton, AR, they considered Vera their home. Margie attended nursing school and became a L.P.N.  She was Dr. Henwood’s nurse for a number of years, before retiring from St. John’s.  Margie was a hard worker and lived her life to the fullest.  She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, making fudge and peanut clusters, and spending time with her family.

Margie is survived by her children, James Alan “Jimmy” Core of Tulsa, Lyndell Douglas Core and wife Margaret of Arlington, VA, and Karen Robinson of Bartlesville; her grandchildren, Nicole Sparks and husband Adam, James P. Core, and Joseph R. Core; great grandchildren, Zoey M. Sparks and Zander A.J. Sparks; her sister, Grace Fholer; and a host of extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pat in 2019, her sister, Barbara Spicer, and her brother, Billy Spicer

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, AR.
