Margaret Ann Cummins Hassell

Margaret Ann Cummins Hassell of Talala, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Tulsa. She was 76. Margaret was born on August 29, 1938 in Hollis, OK to Ira Milton Cummins and Maggie Lee Rollins Cummins. She married Robert William "Bob" Hassell on May 28, 1955 in Altus. Throughout the years Margaret worked at various jobs. She was a cafeteria worker for Tulsa Public Schools, Bryan Infant Wear employee, worked in a mini blind factory, and retired from Whirlpool Corp. Margaret lived in Tulsa before moving to rural Talala in 1972. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oologah, where she was chairman of the Food Pantry.

Margaret is survived by, her children, Stena Marie Hassell Lemke, Janet Lee Hassell Knight, and Robert William Hassell, Jr.; her grandchildren, Brenda Hagerty and husband Lamar of Ravenna, TX, Jeremy Charles and wife Jenny of Tulsa, Stena Dawn Brewer and husband Jeffrey of Ravenna, TX, David Lemke III and wife Kyndra of Bonham, TX, Leslie Davis and husband Stan of Talala, Paige Kornelsen and husband Raymond of Shawnee, OK, Benjamin Knight of Oologah, and Tanner Hassell of Cromwell, OK; her sisters, Peggy Tsukahara and Velma Charles; her brother, Nolan Cummins; 11 great granddaughters and 6 great grandsons; and a host of extended family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hassell; daughter, Judy Ann Hassell; parents, Ira and Maggie Cummins; sisters, Inez Denham and Ola Hood; brothers, Aaron Cummins, Vern Cummins, Buford Cummins, Wendell Cummins, Arthur (Bud) Cummins, and Don Cummins; daughter-in-law, Teresa Hassell; grandson-in-law, Billy Bell; and infant granddaughter, Jessica Charles.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Oologah First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Downum officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oologah. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
