Lowell Stuart Loffelmacher

On the afternoon of November 16, 2021, Lowell Stuart Loffelmacher passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 86 years old. Born October 3, 1935 in Belfield, North Dakota to Paul Justus Loffelmacher and Bernice Irene Denham, his immediate family included two sets of twins. In birth order, his siblings are brothers Don, twins Reid and Roswell, sister Helen and younger twin brother Lawrence. He grew up loving the land, farming and animals of all kinds. Lowell had many pets in his life and a not-so-secret affection for cats. He served in the Marine Corps and rose to the rank of Captain before  he was honorably discharged. Lowell became a teacher and high school administrator; he continued his own education throughout his career and held a Doctorate of Education at the time of his retirement. He was blessed to be married twice -- first to Nancy Elizabeth Book, who passed away in 1995 and then to Carmen K. D. Dugger, who passed away in April, 2021. Along with his wonderful wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Don, Reid, Roswell and his sister Helen. Lowell is survived by his twin brother, Lawrence, his children -- sons Jon and Chris and daughter Mitzi; and his stepchildren -- Ray, Christen and Stephanie. He will be missed by his family and many friends all over the country for his loyalty, integrity, and a wry, generous sense of humor. Memorial services are being planned for Tulsa, OK and Sterling, CO at a later date.
