Loretta Kay Thompson, 81, of Oologah, OK passed away, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Oologah. She was born March 31, 1945, in Madison, Wisconsin to Ernest Melvin Nale and the former Gwendolyn Beverly Maham. She married Harold Frank Thompson, December 22, 1966, and together they raised two sons. She retired after 15 years as a financial officer for Verdigris High School. She also spent 10 years as a deaf interpreter in Colorado.

She is survived by 2 sons, Todd Thompson and wife Shelley, and Curtis Thompson: 4 grandchildren, Macy Roberts, Payton Thompson, Kaylee Thompson, and Grady Thompson and 2 great-grandchildren: Crosby Roberts and Patrick Roberts. She is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Frank Thompson, 1 sister: Carol Nale and 1 brother: Larry Nale.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Loretta’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm. The family will be present from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Fairview Cemetery in Talala with Chaplin Matthew Friese officiating.
