Lester Anderson Hudson, 90, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 in Talihina, OK. He was born February 16, 1921 in Boise City, OK to Alfred "Buck" Hudson and Tersa J. Martin Hudson. He grew up in the pan-handle of OK, moving to Collinsville as a young man with his family. He graduated from Collinsville Schools in 1941. He later entered into the Air Force in 1942 until he was released from active duty in Oct. 1951. He returned to Oklahoma where he attended Business School and became employed at American Airlines. He retired from American Airlines at the age of 62. He owned a 300 acre farm and ranch with his brother Bud around Tiff City, northeast of Grove. Lester stayed in the Talala area and brother Bud and wife Gladys worked and maintained the ranch. Lester never married and stayed close to family and nieces and nephews. He had lived in Talala since the early 80's and became an active gardener and canned lots of great pickles, vegetables and fruit. He became a member of Oologah Assembly of God Church and attended as long as he could drive or as long as he could coax nephew Raymond to drive him.
His parents had 8 children. 6 boys and 2 girls. There is a surviving brother, Cecil Hudson of Claremore and surviving sister Leona "Tince" Williams of Collinsville. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Oologah Assembly of God Church with interment at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
