Leo Darrel Owens

Leo Darrel Owens, 72, of Vera, OK passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Vera. He was born June 23, 1944 in Vera, OK to Ira I. Owens and the former Mary Ellen Bernice Clifton. Leo was a lifelong resident of Vera. He retired in 1999 from the U.S.P.S. as a Letter Carrier. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, 1 of those years he was station in Thailand. He was member of the Vera Christian Church, the VFW post 3077 and a lifelong Oklahoma University Football fan. He enjoyed woodworking.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Vera Full Gospel Church with Rev. Brian Lawrence and Rev. Jim Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.

Leo is survived by his wife: Ann of the home. 1 son: Steve Owens and his wife Dana of Owasso. 3 grandchildren: Lauren Owens, Paige Owens and Cooper Owens. 1 brother: Paul L. Owens of Vera. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Carl Owens and Bill Owens.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
