Lee Roy Mayes, 80, formerly of Collinsville, passed away, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Claremore, OK. He was born October 4, 1937 in San Antonio, TX to Ludwell Lee Mayes and the former Myrtle Annette Young. He had lived in Owasso for the last 3 years having moved from Collinsville where he had resided since 1970. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville for 20 years before moving to help start Eastside Baptist church. He retired, after 25 years, from St. Francis Hospital where he was and X-Ray Technician. He had previously work for Collinsville Memorial Hospital, Collinsville Police Department, Tulsa County Sherriff office, Keller Police Department of Keller, TX, and Grapevine Police Department of Grapevine, TX and was the Chief of Police in Watauga, TX.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Brumley officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sue of the home, 6 children: Jimmy Mayes of Tulsa, Christy Parks and her husband Henry of Collinsville, David Mayes of Riverside, CA., Marty Mayes of Owasso, Hannah Mayes of Stillwater and Rachel Mayes of Stillwater. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
