Layhoma Ann Smith, 45, resident of Collinsville since 1991, OK passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in Owasso, OK. She was born August 15, 1972 in Tulsa, OK to Freddie Mendenhall and the former Susan James. She married Randy Smith May 1, 1993 in Collinsville. She was a member of the Oklahoma 911 Association, worked for the Collinsville Police Department as a Dispatch Supervisor, 2000-2013; she loved working on special projects for the Police Department. She had a love of animals having placed over 250 Bassett Hounds in rescue programs. She was the event organizer for the family. Her hobbies included riding 4-wheelers, camping, hunting, auctions and garage sales. People would often seek her out for advice.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Maranatha Baptist Temple with Pastor Andy Plunk officiating. Interment will follow at Noon at the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Survived by her husband: Randy Smith of the home, father: Freddie Mendenhall of Porum, OK, 2 children: Andrew Smith of Skiatook and Elizabeth Smith of Owasso. 4 grandchildren: Alex Smith, Ally Smith, Becca Smith and Skarlette Smith, 1 sister: Angie Cunningham and her husband John of Chouteau, OK, 1 brother: Ernie Mendenhall of Broken Arrow, and 1 uncle: David James of Tulsa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Susan Wilder, a sister-n-law: Carrie Mendenhall, 1 nephew: Garryck Mendenhall and 1 uncle: Ralph James.
