Lahoma May Baker

LaHoma May (Fenton) Baker, 85, of Collinsville, OK passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 in Collinsville. She was born May 23, 1924 to Fred Fenton and the former Iva Edith McGuire Fenton. LaHoma met and married Charles Calvin Baker and they moved to Collinsville in 1955. He preceded her in death August 3, 1983. She attended Collinsville Baptist Tabernacle and in recent years was a member of Community Church. She retired from Phillips Petroleum where she worked as a Credit Card Processor in the Accounting department. Her hobbies included embroidery and shopping. She was a great seamstress and made many outfits for her children growing up. LaHoma’s greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing things with “the Cousins.” She was loved greatly and will be missed.
LaHoma is survived by 4 children, Steve Baker and his wife Susan of Collinsville, Rick Baker and his wife Michelle of Bartlesville, Ranell Walker and her husband Mike of Skiatook, and Lynn Ford and her husband Dan of Collinsville; 1 sister, Betty Singleton of Collinsville; 1 brother, Willis Fenton and his wife Betty of Depew; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; the Cousins; and numerous family and friends. LaHoma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Monday, August 17, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Community Church in Collinsville with Rick Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
