Kelee Ann Strong (1964-2023)
Kelee loved her family. She would have owned a dog and kitty sanctuary if it had been possible. She was beautiful in every way. Wonderful mom, wife, nana, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend to everyone she knew. Her battle was very short and difficult. She fought admirably until she could fight no more. Kelee Ann Kuykendall Strong, 59 years young, from Oologah, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2023.
Kelee was born in Tulsa Oklahoma in February of 1964 to Roscoe Leroy Kuykendall and Mary Marcella Horton.
She loved spending time with her family especially her grandparents and her mom and dad. She loved playing Gin Rummy with her grandmother, sister, aunt and whoever they could coerce into the game in the evenings. The laughter during those times was filled with joy and happiness.
Kelee graduated from Oologah High School in 1983and was soon married in 1986. She attended church at Zion Hill in Oologah and accepted Christ in 1985. She worked various jobs until she had her daughters, Hannah and Madison. She loved being a full-time mother for both girls and returned to the work force after Madison graduated High School. Motherhood was her joy and happiness. She was and always will be “mom”. Kelee made sure our home was full of love.
Bill met Kelee at Mazzio’s in Owasso in 1985. Introduced by Roy and Charlotte Lowers, she was sitting in the booth with her cousins making jokes and blowing a straw whistle. Bill and Kelee were married in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 26, 1986.
Hannah Ellise Strong was born in 1990 and brought more love into our home than we could have imagined. Kelee was the greatest mom ever for Hannah and later Madison. As new parents we weren’t always sure what to do when things were going wrong but we had such wonderful family that everything always turned out right. Special mention and thanks to Grandma Lyda and Aunt Charlotte for getting us through those times.
Madison Rose Strong was born in 1996 and doubled what we had gained when Hannah was born. We were more experienced and didn’t have as many questions but we loved spoiling her in every way. Kelee spent most of her time with the girls. She was always at softball practice or at games. She managed the home life very well while Bill was on the road. Kelee loved our daughters more than anything.
Kelee’s granddaughter, Paisley Alex, was born in 2021 to Hannah and Jonathan Bewley and was the light of her life. She would always say “There’s nana’s skunk butt” which made Paisley light up, clap her little hands together and jump around until she could get her in her arms. Paisley meant everything to Kelee in the short time she had with her.
Kelee’s animal’s were the best part of her day after the girls had moved out. The following is from a lifetime of animals that made her happy. Every goat had a name, Buddy, Daisy, Petunia, etc. There was Lulu the pot belly pig. Traveller the white rat (Madison). Biskit the paint horse (Madison). Then the dogs… Jill, Licky, Sweet Pea, Lilly, Daisy, Rudy, Sandy, Pumpkin, YumYum, Zee, Rosie, Nubs, Wobbles, Cinch, Remi, and we are sure there were more. She always took in the animals others couldn’t keep. Cats too; Charlie, Tigger, Schmedley, Omalley, Monkey, and Dammit. She loved every one of them.
Kelee was so beautiful inside and out. She was always laughing and having as much fun as she could at every moment. She enjoyed spoiling her family by making cakes, cookies, and buying ice cream but she didn’t like to eat sweets. We would love to hear her call Bill “butthead,” and laugh just one more time. We could not ask for a better wife, mother, sister, and best friend and will miss Kelee every day. Our memories and love of and for her will last the rest of our lives.
Kelee was preceded in death by Leroy (father), Mary (mother), and grandparent’s Roscoe and Lyda. She is survived by Bill, Hannah, Jonathon, Paisley, Madison; her sister Kathy, brother Bo; nieces Lacey, Taryn, Bailey, many great nieces, a great nephew, Aunts and uncles; Roy and Charlotte Lowers, Ben and Merleen Bradford, many cousins, and friends that love her dearly. She is missed dearly.
