Karl G. Hellen, 89, of Collinsville, Ok passed away in Tulsa on Thursday, July 18, 2013. He was born January 28, 1924 in Wagoner, Ok to Herbert Henry Hellen, Sr. and the former Nora Mabel Sterling. He married Mary Jean Hellen on January 24, 1948 in Muskogee, OK. He was a member of the Meadowcreek United Methodist Church. He was 33rd Degree Mason in the Collinsville Masonic Lodge where he was a member for over 50 years. He volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Drive for over 18 years. He served his country in the Air Force during WWII. He was a highway patrolmen for 27 years having retired in 1983.
He is survived 2 children: Barbra Elisabeth Gay and her husband Jerry of Skiatook and Robert M. Hellen and his wife Georgia of Sperry, OK. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Hellen, 1 son: Joseph M. Pope, 2 brothers: Herbert Henry Hellen and William Royal Hellen.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Meadowcreek United Methodist Church with Chaplain Sam Garner officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
